With the help of some of the best and brightest Shakespeare fans in the world, we\u2019re diving deep into 38 plays in 35 episodes (Henry<\/em>s\u00a0IV<\/em>\u00a0&\u00a0VI<\/em>\u00a0only get one episode a piece; sorry, Bill). In every episode of The Shakespeare Series, I\u2019ll be joined by a different guest (or guests) to discuss a different play in the canon- from the big picture to the tiniest nerdy detail. We have guests lined up who\u2019ve appeared in title roles on the biggest national stages and others who\u2019ve played messengers in 20-person houses; actors, directors, scholars, and even a stage manager, calling in from Stratford, Manila, Boston, Berlin, New York, Niagara, Newfoundland, Washington DC and, of course, Toronto. Every one of them knows their stuff and every one of them was chosen for exactly one reason- a big, bold, unapologetic love of the bard.<\/p>\n

Director and educator Jeannette Lambermont-Morey<\/a> is not only one of the loveliest people in Canadian theatre, she’s also one of the greatest Shakespeare minds around, combining an academic’s expertise with a\u00a0director’s eye and an enthusiast’s, well, enthusiasm. She was just coming off\u00a0directing a production of Hamlet<\/em> when I spoke with her for the Shakespeare Series but, since our Hamlet<\/em> episode was already in the can, Jeannette graciously agreed to chat about another favourite- the enigmatic romance The Winter’s Tale<\/em>.<\/p>\n
